- Three-year letter-winner on the Springfield College swimming team.

- Served as varsity team co-captain in 1936 and freshman team captain in 1933.

- Earned countless distinctions for his efforts to improve and enhance first aid and water safety programs in New England.

- Three-time All-American (1934, '35, '36)

- Set five New England Intercollegiate Swimming Association records.

- Finalist in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle at the 1934 NCAA Championships.

- Recognized by the Massachusetts House of Representatives, the Massachusetts State Police and Massachusetts Safety Council for his dedicated service in the field of first aid and water safety.

- Honored by the American National Red Cross after directing that organization's largest aquatic school in the United States for 37 years.

- Enshrined in Dean College's inaugural hall of fame in 1977.
