  • The all-time winningest football coach in Springfield College history

  • Spent 32 seasons on the sidelines as Springfield’s head football coach and owned a career record of 201-139-2 

  • Led Springfield to five appearances in the NCAA Championship Tournament

  • Thanks to his triple option offense, Springfield won seven NCAA Division III rushing titles in his tenure and finished second in the country in rushing on three occasions

  • Captured six ECAC Division III Championships

  • Received American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) District I Coach-of-the-Year Award in 2000 and 2003

  • Honored with the American Football Foundation’s Johnny Vaught Lifetime Achievement Award for Head Coaches in 2001

  •  In 2006, named the Empire 8, New England Football Writers (DII/III), AFCA (Region I) and d3football.com (East Region) Coach of the Year

  • During his time as Springfield’s head coach, produced 22 All Americans, four Academic All Americans, and in 2006, a Melberger Award winner which was given to the Division III National Player of the Year
