- Served as a teacher, coach, and administrator at St. Mark's School in Southboro, Mass. for 36 years, including 28 years as its Director of Athletics
- Coached soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse at St. Mark's
- In soccer, his squads won five league championships, as well as the New England Division II Prep title in 1994
- In lacrosse, his squads amassed an impressive record of 305-99-4 -- with 12 league titles and four undefeated seasons
- Also named the New England Scholastic Coach of the Year in lacrosse in 1970
- In 1996, he received the Man of the Year Award for independent schools, and was enshrined into the New England Lacrosse Coaches Hall of Fame
- In 2001, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the New England Prep School Athletic Council
- Also the National Director of the National Skeet Shooting Association for 35 years
- A National Skeet Shooting Champion, he was a member of five World Championship Skeet Shooting teams
- In 1998, he was elected to the National Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame
