- Coached cross country, swimming, football, and track at Mephan High School in Nassau County, NY (1943-1975)
- Only coach in New York State high school history to win major championships in four different sports.
- His teams captured three Section 8 (Long Island) championships in cross country (1943, '44, '45), and swimming (11945, '46, '47).
- In football he coached two undefeated seasons (1950, 1952), won three County championships and Rutger Cups (1950, '52, '54), and earned several coach of the year honors.
- As the coach of the track & field team, his squad won 12 state championships, had several undefeated seasons, and won 47 consecutive dual and tri-meets over a seven season span (1947-54).
- President of the Nassau County Football Coaches Association (1954-55).
